Small compact drive to use for backups of my desktop and laptop. I've also used it to copy work stuff to bring home and work on. Plug 'n play for me. I don't use it everyday so don't know how long it will last.

I have owned a Simpletech Simpledrive for years. I think it is one of the first models of this Pinafarina style. It is only a 100 Gb drive and has been used off and on as long as I have had it. The drive has been dropped a few times off the top of my computer and has been transported for the past year in my laptop case. It has never failed and never given me any problems. I am going to buy another one only because I need a larger capacity drive now due to our growing collection of music and pictures. I love the style, the ease of use and the reliability of this drive and that it works with just a USB cord to both power it and transfer data.

I have had this hard drive for almost 2 years now. I also have the 250GB. Both have been great with my MacBook Pro. I haven't had one problem with either of them. There are 2 USB ends to plug into the computer, and for the MacBook I have to use the one that has both cords going into it or it won't recognize the drive. But that's no problem at all. I love these. I have taken good care of them and both have cases that they don't leave unless I am using them.

Disappointed would be a mild word choice for my experience with the SimpleTech 500gb expresso mini. It didn't even work well once and kept crashing every computer I tried to use it with.
